Organization Name: St George Chaldean Catholic Church
Organization Overview: The need for building another church came to light after St. Joseph Church was rebuilt in 1997. The new church was to seat over 800 people, not than double the capacity of the original church. Shortly after St. Joseph church was re-built, many families moved into Macomb county, and the church was again too small for the community. There were only two choices: add on to the existing church, or build a new church to help relieve the over – crowding. We needed a new church. We needed to expand to meet the community’s spiritual need.
