Organization Name:  Atonement Lutheran Church
Organization Overview:  Atonement Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod are committed to the pure Gospel of salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. We show this in our love for God and love for our neighbor. These teachings are clearly presented in the inspired and infallible Scriptures and are summarized in the three ecumenical creeds and the confessional statements of the Book of Concord. We do not hold the creeds or the Book of Concord to be inspired or infallible. They are not God's word and are not equal to the Bible. They simply summarize our beliefs.

Organization Name:  Azteca Youth Enrichment
Organization Overview:  The Azteca Youth Enrichment center at 195 W. Montcalm Avenue is home base for the Azteca amateur boxing team and the Azteca Folkloric Dance Group. The center is a beehive of activity Monday through Thursday with youths of every size, age, nationality, and walk of life, learning how to condition their body and mind through activities that demand their full attention and discipline. The organization is an all-volunteer group that had its roots in 1973 as an off-shoot of the Azteca Athletic Club which was founded in 1949 as a men's baseball club. The athletic club had also sponsored little league baseball teams, men's softball teams, bowling teams, a mixed bowling league and a men's golf league. In 1973 the Azteca Boxing Team was formed and in 1988 they were incorporated as a non-profit and grated IRS tax-exempt status in 1990. The Montcalm Avenue property was formerly 60 ft. x 40 ft. motorcycle shop which was converted into a boxing gym. In 2001, the group was granted a HUD block grant by the city of Pontiac, and began the demolition of the old building to replace it with a 60 ft. x 75 ft. steel frame building. The group had to match the amount of the grant, which they did with fund raising, contributions, in-kind donations, and volunteer labor from the community at large. The lot next to the building on the east side, was purchased by Mr. Gordon Hartunian of ABC Warehouse, who graciously leases it to Azteca for $1.00 a month for much needed parking space.

Organization Overview:  September of 1974, nearly two hundred gathered at Orchard Hills School, for the very first Mass of the community that eventually would become our parish. As this community grew under the leadership of Fr. Kevin O'Brien, they had an experience of truly being a family with Christ at the center of their communal life. This "family" grew so quickly that two months later on November 12, 1974 it was given the status of a parish with the name, Church Of The Holy Family. Just three years later, on November 5, 1977, John Cardinal Dearden dedicated a new church/multi-purpose building on the site where we are located today. In 1989 following the retirement of Fr. O'Brien, Msgr. John Budde became pastor of this rapidly growing community. On July 1, 2007 Holy Family was blessed with the leadership of our third pastor Fr. Tim Hogan. Those first parishioners could hardly have known that this community of faith would grow to over 3,300 households and still maintain its sense of "family". For indeed, until this very day, there is among us a sense of warmth and hospitality, a desire to respond to those in need and a commitment to the Lord who is at the center of our family life.
